Many look forward to the Fall when Apple releases its newest version of iOS with the new features and toys it presents. One of this year’s improvements offers a vastly simplified process for enrolling personal (BYOD) devices into a mobile device management (MDM) solution such as Intune. The current method requires installing both the Company Portal and the Microsoft Authenticator app, and requires a dance through a maze of screens and jumping between applications to successfully enroll a dev... read more.

This blog contains contributions from Technical Architect, Kamran Ahmad, and System Engineer Level 1, Doug Lampone. We recently assisted a client with a Microsoft OneDrive issue where users were not automatically signed into OneDrive through Azure RemoteApp or Azure Virtual Desktop. The client's resources were hosted on Windows 11 version 22H2 running OneDrive 24.166.0818.0003. To come up with a solution to this problem, we worked with Microsoft support and captured logs. We found the follow... read more.

If you are responsible for creating Entra Conditional Access policies, you may have noticed that Microsoft has put the “Require approved client app” control on the soon-to-be-extinct list. Instead, the newer “Require app protection policy” control should be used. Microsoft stated that the older control will stop being enforced in March 2026, so it will be as if it does not exist (more information can be found here: Migrate approved client app to application protection policy in Co... read more.

I recently stumbled upon a Citrix Windows KMS license activation bug that I thought would be good to share along with a workaround. The bug appeared after I created machines from a Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Azure Edition virtual machine template using Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS). The Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Azure Edition version was 21H2 (OS Build 20348.2322). The machines are created just fine, but when trying to log in to a virtual desktop, I noticed the “Activate Windows&rdq... read more.

In today's age of digital collaboration, using tools like Microsoft Teams in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments is more important than ever. We've recently had customers ask how well the new Teams client will work in VDI, especially with support for classic Teams ending on June 30th. The new Teams version has some great new features, but there's a catch: it isn’t fully supported on Windows Server 2019 and doesn't work on Windows Server 2016 at all. This can be tricky for businesses usi... read more.

Recent developments from Broadcom regarding VMware's offerings have sparked significant discussions within our organization and our client base. As we dive deeper into these changes, I thought I would write this blog post to discuss two recent changes that I have been asked about and their potential impacts. The End of an Era: Discontinuation of ESXi Free With over a decade of availability, VMware has decided to discontinue the free version of its ESXi hypervisor (versions 7.x and 8.x), marking the end of... read more.

Microsoft OneNote is a popular program for taking and sharing notes. One challenge with OneNote though is moving or migrating notebooks. This challenge has become amplified because Microsoft has changed the options available for moving notebooks through the various flavors and versions of OneNote over the years. There is also confusing documentation on how to move notebooks. Hopefully this blog will provide some clarity. A quick lesson on OneNote files: A given notebook is a collection of files that are st... read more.

Overview Up until now, companies that were using Workspace on Citrix Cloud had to use a generic URL on the cloud.com domain. Citrix now gives you the ability to use a customer-owned domain, which helps with corporate branding, and makes it easier for users to remember the URL. It also helps with companies that are migrating from a NetScaler Gateway to Workspace, as they can migrate over their existing Gateway URL. For example, users at a company named AstraForge would typically access Workspace using a ge... read more.
